Lucio Lucimar Ferreira da Silva, born 8 May 1978, commonly known as Lúcio, is a Brazilian football defender who currently plays for Italian Serie A club Internazionale and the Brazilian national team, of which he is the captain. He is a strong defender with a good aerial play, who adds presence in the attack.
In the 2006 FIFA World Cup, he set a FIFA record by playing 386 consecutive minutes without committing a foul, a streak which was finally broken in Brazil's 1–0 quarter-final loss to France.
In August 2006, Lúcio was appointed as captain by current Brazil manager Dunga.
Lúcio's next international tournament was 2009 Confederations Cup. On 28 June 2009, the Brazilian captain scored the game-winning goal in the 84th minute for Brazil in the finals of the Confederations Cup against the United States. Lúcio converted on a header from an Elano corner-kick which beat American goalkeeper Tim Howard.
The 2010 FIFA World Cup will be Lúcio's third World Cup.

Lahm was ever present during Germany's 2010 World Cup qualifying campaign and was the only player to play every single minute. Following the withdrawal of regular captain Michael Ballack from the World Cup squad, Lahm was chosen to captain the team at the upcoming tournament. On 13 June 2010, he captained the German National Team in the opening game of the 2010 FIFA World Cup against Australia, becoming the youngest player to captain a German side in a World Cup tournament.
Lahm was nominated for the FIFA World Player of the Year 2006 following his outstanding performance in the 2006 FIFA World Cup and again 2007. 2006 he was in contention alongside fellow Germans Michael Ballack, Miroslav Klose and Jens Lehmann, but the award was won on 18 December 2006 by the Italian defender Fabio Cannavaro. However, he was chosen as the left back for the UEFA Team of the Year 2006 and came second in the same election next year, losing only by less than 1% of the given votes to the winner Éric Abidal. 2008 Lahm was again voted as the left back for the UEFA Team of the Year. Lahm has been a candidate for the UEFA Team of the Year in all of his professional years when he has been fit (2004, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009) and is therefore alongside Michael Ballack the most often nominated German player for the aforementioned team and the second German having been elected more than once. Carles Puyol i Saforcada, born 13 April 1978, is a Spanish footballer who plays with FC Barcelona and the Spanish national team.
Mainly a central defender, he can also appear on either flanks, especially as a right back. He also serves as a longtime team captain for his only club FC Barcelona, after taking over from Luis Enrique in August 2004.
Puyol won his first Spanish cap on 15 November 2000 against the Netherlands, and remained a regular fixture ever since. He played for the nation at the 2000 Olympics, 2002 FIFA World Cup, UEFA Euro 2004, 2006 World Cup, Euro 2008 and the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup.
At Euro 2008, Puyol started throughout the vast majority of the competition, as the defensive backline only conceded two goals in five games, in an eventual final win against Germany. He was named in the Team of the Tournament with defensive partner Carlos Marchena of Valencia CF.
Puyol started three out of five games at the 2009 Confederations Cup, and captained the team when Iker Casillas was rested for the last group stage match. As Spain finished third, he and three other teammates were named in the Team of the Tournament.

John George Terry, born 7 December 1980, is an English footballer. Terry plays in a centre back position and is the captain of Chelsea in the Premier League. Terry was also captain of the England national football team from August 2006 until February 2010.
Terry was voted best defender in the UEFA Champions League in both 2005 and 2008, the PFA Players' Player of the Year in 2005, and was included in the FIFPro World XI for four consecutive seasons, from 2005 to 2008. He was also named in the all-star squad for the 2006 FIFA World Cup, the only English player to make the team. He wears the number 26 shirt for Chelsea.

Wálter Adrián Samuel, born Wálter Adrián Luján; 23 March 1978, is an Argentine footballer who currently plays for Italian Serie A club Internazionale, known as El Muro (the wall).
Samuel has played 55 matches for Argentina, scoring five goals. He played for his country in the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Korea/Japan. Due to the amazing performances in Internazionale and becoming a regular starter, he earned his place back in the Argentina National Team. Diego Maradona chose him to be a starter in the Argentine defence in the South Africa Fifa World Cup.
