Hundreds of fans have lined up for days for the Thursday night's red-carpet premiere of "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," according to Reuters reports Wednesday.
The fans, virtually all female, are living on the concrete plaza of the Nokia Theatre in downtown Los Angeles. The theater now is surrounded by blankets, tents, umbrellas and cardboard cut-outs of the film's stars.
"It's just worth seeing all the stars. They bring the characters that we love so much to life, so we want to see them in person and cheer them on," said Yolanda Rodriguez, 36, an unemployed graphic designer who came from San Francisco for the event.
The third installment of the vampire romance series will open on June 30, starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. It will likely be one of 2010's biggest blockbusters. The first two films made over 1.1 billion U.S. dollars combined at box offices worldwide.
'Twilight' Fans Line Up for Premiere
The newest film of The Twilight Saga franchise, Eclipse, isn’t out in theaters until Wednesday, June 30, but fans are lining up for the Los Angeles premiere, June 24 at 9:30pm. MTV News live-streams will air the premiere on MTV.com.
Earlier this week, Twilight fans started camping in the California sun outside the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles to get wristbands for entrance to the premiere.
One fan that spoke with MTV News said, "The first day, the vibe was very negative." The fan, Jaylyn Sachette, continued, "Everybody was pushing and shoving and yelling at each other. But once we got wristbands and our spot in line, everything kind of chilled out, and now we're all making friends."
