Sports News: FCB Escola accepts Young Pinoy footballer
Here is great news for the Filipino Nation: Another Filipino
will make a name for the country in the world of Football.
The ABS-CBN
news report says, Sandro Reyes, was accepted to join the FCB Escola. The nine year old Sandro was the first Pinoy
accepted to FCB Escola and a full three year scholarship was granted to him.
Among the 400 children who tried out for the scholarship,
Sandro is one of the two boys who was selected by FCB Escola. He is the only
home grown Filipino to be part of the academy.
FC Barcelona Escola is the official Academy of FC Barcelona
that trains 6-12 year olds. Then they will have the chance to move up to La
Masia, the Barcelona youth squad. According to the FC Barcelona website
the academy have approximately 1500 children to train.
